Biography

Hi! My name is Yuliya Borshchova
P
laying and teaching piano has been a passion of mine.

I began playing piano at the age of six and earned my Master’s degree in Music from the Conservatory of Music in Kazakhstan, where I was born and raised. I moved to the United States in 1998 and have been teaching piano to children and adults for more than 20 years.

My teaching approach is built on a strong classical foundation combined with a multicultural perspective. I love helping students explore different musical styles —from classical to pop, jazz, and beyond—while developing solid musical skills.

I believe students should learn not only how to play, but also how to understand, interpret and express music. My lessons incorporate piano technique, sight-reading, music theory, ear training, creativity, improvisation, and performance skills.

Being a singer coach I also love connecting piano and voice. Students who enjoy singing can learn to accompany themselves on the piano, developing a deeper understanding of melody, chords, rhythm, and harmony while gaining confidence as independent musicians.

One of my strengths as a teacher is making difficult concepts simple, clear, and approachable. I meet each student where they are and adapt lessons to their personality, goals, and learning style.

I am a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and hold a Florida Department of Education teaching certification. Most importantly, I want my students to feel successful, inspired, and excited to make music.

I believe everyone can learn music with the right guidance, encouragement, and a willingness to grow—and I would love to help your child discover their musical potential!
